Happy New Year!

As we step into the New Year we want to tell you about all the things that are going on at the Centre this winter.

First of all, we will be following along with the Centers for Spiritual Living theme of 'Creating a Values-Based Life' this year.  Join us as we step into a greater experience of our potential.

We have a new class in a new format coming up. Rev Nadene Rogers will be facilitating 'Prosperous Me'. Check out the poster for more information. This course runs for 30 days. There is a 20 minute call each morning to set the tone for the day. You can register on our website.

Our SOM 103 - Building a Healing Consciousness course is going to start on March 6th. Deepen your understanding of Affirmative Prayer. You can also register for this course on our website.

At the end of January we will be starting our annual Season for Peace and Non-Violence campaign. Here is some more information about this:

The Gandhi King Season For Nonviolence was co-founded 19 years ago in 1998 by Dr. Arun Gandhi and The Association for Global New Thought.  It is an awareness campaign of the memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., spanning 64 days commencing January 30th and ending April 4th.  The purpose of the campaign is to bring attention to the philosophy of attaining peace through nonviolence actions as demonstrated by legendary leaders such as Gandhi, King, Chevez, Mandela, and the Dalai Lama.  Over 900 cities in 67 countries participate.  CSL Kelowna will again participate with a variety of events such as movies, meditation, and the Peace Rock Walk on March 25th.  Further detail on events TBA.

Keep an eye on our newsletter for more details on the different Season for Peace and Non-Violence activities.

The Human Experience

We are all searching for answers to the most basic questions: Who are we? Why are we here? Do we really matter?

In a world fraught with hostility and violence, an altruistic group of young men endeavor to understand the true essence of the human spirit by visiting forgotten souls such as homeless New Yorkers, Peruvian orphans and isolated Ghanaian lepers. By spotlighting heartwarming stories from around the world, this uplifting documentary shows viewers that every single person, no matter his or her lot in life, is beautiful. Gorgeously filmed and masterfully narrated, THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE explores with depth and compassion what it means to be a human being.

Features insight and commentary from spiritual leaders and philosophers including: Anna Halpine, Dr. William Hurlbut, Rabbi Simon Jacobson, Dr. Alveda King, and Rev. Richard Neuhaus

Admissions

Admissions is a short film starring Academy Award® nominee James Cromwell that tells a transformational tale about what it takes to find lasting peace. Featuring an Israeli couple and a Palestinian, this modern parable is set in the Admissions Room for the afterlife. Its purpose is to start a conversation that heals.

Upcoming Class - Loving Yourself to Great Health!!

The Ultimate  Diet    LIVE IT!

Louise Hay has done it again!

She has combined her valuable knowledge and 89 years of life experience into a new book called Loving Yourself to Great Health.

Unlike any “diet” book you have read or tried to follow, this work transcends fads, trends, and dogma to bring you a simple yet profound system to heal your body, mind, and spirit by assisting you in gently changing your thoughts and becoming more aware of what you are putting into your body and mind and by tuning into your inner spirit.

I invite you to join me as I facilitate six informative and fun filled classes based on the contents of this amazing book.

  • For those of you who feel you already know all about loving yourself, you may find some helpful reminders in these classes.
  • For those who feel that you already know all there is to know about nutrition, these classes may bring you some surprises and important reminders as we share our thoughts and information.
  • For those of you who have never heard of Louise Hay, you are in for a treat.
  • For those who eat on the run, or those who don’t even consider food as important, these classes will definitely bring you new insights and “food” for “thought”.
  • For those of you who hate the kitchen, you may begin a new love affair as you discover valuable and delicious easy healthy food preparation ideas.
  • For those who love the kitchen, like I do, you will be delighted by new recipe options.

Many of you might say, “I can just buy and read the book – I don’t need any help”.  Yes, that’s true you could, but it makes learning so much easier when we receive instruction; receive support; and gain clarity by sharing with others.

These classes are an investment in you - in your personal health journey.  In the end, it all boils down to two main factors – the thoughts you think and the food you eat. Louise Hay’s wisdom is enhanced as she has co-authored this book with two nutritionists, Ahlea Khadro and Heather Dane.

Give yourself an awesome gift for the New Year.  Start 2016 with an investment in your health.  You can afford it! You do have time! You are worth it!  You can do it!

I look forward to sharing with you.

Namaste, Sandra

Christy Snow is coming back to CSL Kelowna.

Christy Snow will be coming back to share her wisdom, her beautiful music, and her beautiful presence with us. She will be holding a couple of workshops at the Peace Centre. See below for more information.

Workshop – June 7 & 14, 2015
Living From Your YES Workshop (part 1 & 2)!
This two part workshop will take place Sundays June 7th and June 14th following service from 1:00-3:30pm. The workshop is offered individually or together. This means that you are welcome even if you can only attend one Sunday; however the material will build and therefore you will receive the maximum benefit from this material by attending both. The cost for this spiritual investment is $45 per workshop or $80 for both when paid on or before June 7th.

Part 1 (June 7th) is focused on identifying and solidifying your Passion, Purpose and Individual Expression.

Part 2 (June 14th) will concentrate on making significant shifts in your life regarding Money and Relationships.

Living From Your YES – Part 1
Part 1 is focused on identifying and solidifying your Passion, Purpose and Individual Expression.

What is your “WHY?”
You make decisions every day, are they conscious, are they driven by a connection to who you are, what is important to you and what is yours to bring to the world?

Create your own personal statement with which to assist in navigating the decisions in your life.

Understand and learn to engage the spiritual laws ever available to you to create a life fully lived. Live your unique expression in the world.

Living From Your YES – Part 2
Focused on releasing old patterns of thought and behavior that limit the flow of good in your life. Part 2 of Living From Your YES will concentrate on making significant shifts in your life regarding Money and Relationships.

Do your finances have room for improvement? Could your relationships be more fulfilling and harmonious? Ever thought about the connection between your love life and your bank account? Both of these areas are huge indicators of the level of good you have allowed yourself to accept up until now. Learn to increase your capacity for good by utilizing the spiritual laws of the universe. “There is a power for good in the Universe and you can use it.” Dr. Ernest Holmes

It’s your time to “use it” and create a life where you thrive, not just survive. You deserve it!
